Today we finished reading chapter 2 of A Wrinkle in Time in class. Students then took a brief six point quiz on chapters 1-2 before reviewing their vocabulary words on chapters 1-4.
Today students received their corrected research papers and they were then asked to complete a brief survey online for homework. The survey can be found on my website. It is located under the 'tabs' button. The class then reviewed the key aspects of chapter one before beginning to read chapter 2 in A Wrinkle in Time.
PLEASE COMPLETE YOUR RESEARCH PAPER SURVEY BY WEDNESDAY OF THIS WEEK! Today students participated in book talks with small groups of 4-5 students. Each student shared with the group a book they read third quarter and then each person was evaluated by the group based on their active listening, participation and ability to use their notes/book during the discussion. Students were asked to finish chapter 1 of A Wrinkle in Time and conduct a close reading of the pages in their green packet.
Today students presented their vocabulary skits. Each student was asked to complete an evaluation form on each group during the presentation. Please see Mr. Finke for a make-up assignment if you were absent today. We also began reading chapter 1 of A Wrinkle in Time.
Today students were given the class period to work on their vocabulary skit presentations. The directions for this task can be found under the 'handouts' tab on my website. Students were absent today will need to choose 5 out of 10 words and write sentences using each in context.
Today we continued to review some background information regarding the story A Wrinkle in Time. Students were also introduced to the ten vocabulary words they will be expected to master at the conclusion of chapters 1-4. These words can be found under the 'handouts' section of my website.
Students were introduced to the novel we will be starting in class titled A Wrinkle in Time. We discussed the background of the novel and reviewed the four essential questions we will be using as the basis of our study for the reading.
