Today students received their new daily starter for the week. This handout can be found under the 'Daily Starters' tab above. After completing their daily starter (review of dialogue) students were split up into small groups based on their Paul Bunyan perspective letter. Students read their letters to their group mates and then discussed how 'author's purpose' was shown in the letter. Students were then asked to circle the one sentence that summed up the author's purpose in the letter. We finished class by discussing as a large group the importance of perspective/purpose in writing.
If you were absent today, make sure you turn in your Paul Bunyan letter and pick up this week's daily starter from the bin.
